2007: The Mill Odyssey

Things are being done, on our end at least. We have a Bank Account!! We have ordered the bar chairs and stools! We have a Phone Number! but don't call it yet, since it's not hooked up. And...drum roll...we have a name.

Brooks Tavern.

How's that sound?

And funnest of all - funnest? - is we have a Domain and we are working on putting together our new Web Site. I say this is the most fun, because, after writing this Blog and the last one, I have really enjoyed the HTML aspect of it, and apparently that is what building a Web Site is all about. I got a book out of the library and I am having a lot of fun, fooling around with it. Kevin thinks I'll have it up and posted by the end of the night, but we know that won't happen. Still, an "Under Construction" site could appear in the near future.

Getting the Phone Number was exciting - we chose an "810" number, as opposed to a "778" exchange due to the wider choices. We recognize that in the past "778" was "cooler" but since we are really "348" people at heart, what do we care about "810" being the new kid on the block? We like our new number, and hope you do too - 410-810-0012. Now, don't be calling us, since the phone lines aren't there. But here's the second line number - which is what clinched the deal: 410-810-0013. Ah ha! A cascading number for the fax and credit card machines! The sales rep assured me this was a rare opportunity and we grabbed it!

Meanwhile, we had a terrific time on New Year's Eve at the Hyatt in Cambridge with our friends Roy and Molly (no pictures will be allowed at this time) and, while it is amazing that those anxiously awaited holidaze are over already, we are more than anxious to get on with the show that 2007 promises.

New "start" date: Late Winter 2007. Amibiguous but sensitive...it gives us (them, really) 'til March, but we are personally still aiming and directing our energies to mid-February. Just try and stop us...
