Opening "Soon", at a Mill Near You.

If you follow this Blog in order to figure out when the heck we are actually going to open a restaurant in the Radcliffe Mill, get with it. Can't you tell by now that we really have no Clue, no Control, and no Idea when it will happen? We are just toddling along, shaking our heads in despair with every little hold-up, whining to Calvin and Randy when necessary, and hoping our money holds out long enough to pay our bills until we have some income again. God forbid Pinder will want immediate payment when they put in the new furnace (hopefully Wayne isn't reading this...) There's always the serenity prayer to help us, or sometimes simply a reminder to breathe, just breathe. It is very frustrating however. Everyone tells us how great the building looks - and it does look great - but our end is still light years behind schedule. When you see the roof girders going up over the cement block addition toward the back, then you can tell us that the building looks great. This was supposed to happen in mid-December, now it's supposed to happen in mid-January. We are only glad we are tenants, not landlords in this situation. And I have to keep reminding myself that once we are up and running, with any amount of luck (and hard work) we will be at it for a number of years, so maybe these delays are simply a way of getting really, really ready for that...our major life-style change.

What ever.

We continue to plan like we are going to be able to open mid-February. And it's probably not a bad idea, since a lot of things take six or eight weeks to process anyway. Like ordering the booths and banquettes, getting the phone set up, getting a liquor license and taking that Alcohol Awareness Class (again). We want to have all of our ducks in a row so we are not the ones causing any delays. It will happen eventually, I have no doubt. It's just a matter of time...time and time and more time.

So, a few pictures here of recent events.
