The fellow on the upper right is John - he is a fourth year electrician's apprentice and is in charge when his boss Russell is not there. He has been quite helpful. Next to him is the signage for DBS, where we went on Wednesday to start the process of getting our POS system programmed for our business. This is a very involved procedure, which should result in a system that will practically run the Restaurant for us!! at least it better, eh? Below those pics you see a backward facing sign of the Mill and, in imitation of our logo, our table ware. I am putting together our "real" web site and we took some shots just for it, this being one of the results. The new web site should be ready to roll about when everything else starts to happen.

Tomorrow we are holding our first of two "job fairs". Ha ha. When we were in Ocean City we saw that many of the larger hotels and such were scheduling job fairs to attract the hordes of summer help they need down there, and we figured, hey, we could hold one too, right here in Chestertown. So tomorrow and next Saturday we'll be there at the building, praying that a couple or twenty people will come down to apply for work. We know we need plenty of people to do what we want to do, the way we want to do it, and we realize that if we don't get those bodies we'll have to scale back, which we are prepared to do. We probably, for one thing, won't open for lunch right away. Our menu will grow with time and experience, the number of tables we actually seat will expand as we grow able to handle the number of customers that will entail. We are firm believers in what is known as a "soft" opening. We might have a "guinea pig" night, with invited guests - mostly including people who have been so helpful getting us on our way, i.e. those who signed off on our liquor licence, the landlord, and so on - and we might have two of those. We might open on a Wednesday, then again on Friday. We won't have a so-called "Grand Opening" for a long time, maybe we'll do that a month after we start. What ever happens, we plan to open as quietly as possible and have time to get things slowly under control while we are still in the learning stage. But we still have plenty to do before that day comes!
